Business Sense???who gives a damn

u would have heard a lot about entrepreneurs which reside in the hinterlands of India.. or may be you would have heard about the IIM grads leavin their grand paychecks to pursue the entrepreneurial culture.. but wat i am goin to tell about is the abundance of money which is leadin to openin of new shops with what seems to me a bad business.. A leading telecom player establsihes a distributor in big district.. then it appoints Associate Distributors (AD's) in the hinterlands.. they take 8-10 lakhs as security deposit with no interest payment and the commission paid is 1% of the turnover.. now average turnover of the AD is 1,00,000 p.m. and he pays the salary to the staff he hires, his all shop expenses and he gets stuff from the company only on the draft amount paid to the company thus availing no credit from the company.. a simple calculation will tell you tht it doesn't makes any business sense from any angle but still thr are queues to get an Associate Distributorship of the company.. this is b'cos people have the money but no job.. they do not want to sit idle in the home nor want their money to sit idle in bank.. now if i think from Capital point of view they are literally destroying it.. but they do not think so, for them work is their Dharma.. May the god fire more of these entrepreneurial spirits in India.. Amen

Hail Lalu

This post is dedicated to our own Railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.. Some days back i had the luxury of travelling in Indian Railways from Bangalore to Mughalsarai on a 48 hrs journey.. till now i had heard in the IIM about the railway turnaround and how Lalu has brought about changes.. my first hand experience was really gr8 as i could see tht thr was frequent cleaning of toilets, the food of pantry was good and even the linen we got was clean and not torn... however, thr were some rats in my bogie, which i believe was the outcome of the distance of the train and they could easily get enough food during the 2 days journey and survive peacefully in the environment.. but the bloody politics could lead people to do anything.. with me were travellin some ladies who were from Samajwadi party.. since they had no good work apart from chatting their way through, they started hazaar cribbin about the rats and how the latch of one of the dustbin cans was not workin.. they even went to the extent of clickin on the photo of the dustbin from which the plastics of used food were spillin out due to its latch not workin.. and then they made a big letter sayin tht nothin was perfect in the train.. the letter went to saying tht toilets are not clean, food was not good (though they had a big bag having all the food stuff and din't even ordered the pantry's food once) and linen was not clean.. i just hope tht they din't go on the extent of shittin all over the toilet and clickin photos of it ;) .. anyways, my message here is to lalu that if u receive some letter like this with photos just trash it.. or may be tmrw "slimes of india" or "kal tak" will show those photos all over india.. just say balls to them and keep up ur good work.. hats off to you..

To Mom, with Love

the letter which i wrote to mummy when i was on Exchange Program in France:

Dear Mom,

I am fine and hope everything is fine there also. Studies are also going fine. The weather in Brest is moderate though it rains
almost daily and also its a windy place. Still with the clothes I have it is easily manageable.
I am washing all my clothes myself only. In addition, I am cooking for myself all the 3 meals.
In breakfast I have Bread and Cheese and drink juice with it. Today i have also started making
eggs and it came out really well though it was my first experience in cooking eggs.Sometimes
I also make the maggi or noodles which i had carried from India. After sometime i will buy
cornflakes and have it with milk. I have also bought tomatoe soups which i make sometimes.

In lunch i make a local dish called Creps which are like dosas and in the middle i can fill either
chocolate/cheese/jam or any other stuff i want.Or the other option I have is Croissants.
Or I can buy Veg Kebabs from some restaurant and eat it.
I had to pack this thing and carry to college where i take coffee or cold drink alongwith it.

For dinenr, i am making Rice. I had bouhgt tinned Potatoes, Tomatoes, Peas and Carrots.
In addition I have bought raw onions. So i put rice along with potatoes, peas and carrots
to boil. Simultaneoulsy, i cut onions and fry them in oil and also put tomatoes in it. After
the rice is ready i put them in the pan where onions and tomatoes arre frying to mix them to
make it like pulao. Then I have that with curd/dal. Its quite filling. Sometimes i mix it
with bhujia and all. There are some Indian shops in Paris so next time i go there i will buy
some chapatis from there also.

Rest is fine. Don't worry much about me.

Richi

for my better-half :)

kabhi kabhi mere dil mein khayal aata hai,
ki zindagi tere zulfon ki narm chaon mein guzarne pati toh shadab ho bhi sakti thi.

ye ranj-0-gam ki syahi jo dil pe chhayi hai,
teri nazar ke shuaon mein kho bhi sakti thi..

magar ye ho na saka.. magar ye ho na saka,
aur ab ye aalam hai, ki tu nahi, tera gam teri zuztjoo bhi nahin..

guzar rahi hai zindagi kuch is tarah jaise..
isse kisike ke sahare ki aarzoo bhi nahin..

na koi raah, na manzil, na roshni ka suraag..
bhatak rahi hai andheron mein zindagi meri..

inhi andheron mein reh jaaonga kabhi khokar..
main jaanta hoon meri humnafaz, magar yuhin,
kabhi kabhi mere dil mein khayal aata hai..
